Password Security

Your Akrynm Password

Your password is your key to accessing your personal information on Akrynm, including your account and order information. Please keep your password in a safe place and never share it with others. If you lose your password, we can email you a temporary password; if you would like us to do this now, please click here and follow the instructions. How to Create a Secure Password

Here at Akrynm, we care about your security, whether you're shopping with us or any other online company. As technology continues to advance, it becomes increasingly important that we all take the necessary measures to keep our personal information safe. A secure password is the first and perhaps most crucial step to achieving this level of safety.

First, it is very important that you never create your password by selecting a word found in the dictionary; some hackers use dictionary attacks, in which they try to guess your password by entering every word in the dictionary. Avoid obvious passwords, such as those that refer to your name or the names of your friends, family members, or pets. Additionally, do not refer to your home address, your car, or any hobbies, television shows, celebrities, or literary characters. A secure password also does not include anything that involves dates, such as birthdays, months of the year, or days of the week.

To create a secure password, you should incorporate letters, numbers, and/or special characters. Make sure that some of the letters are upper-case, while others are lower-case. It's also a good idea to replace some letters with numbers (e.g., replace the letter “I” with the number “1”). A secure password may also include a foreign word.

Finally, if you must write down your password to remember it, make sure to store it in a place to which only you have access. Never keep your written password on top of your computer desk or inside one of the desk drawers. Also make sure to change your password often, about once a week: if someone has guessed your password, they may not immediately use your personal information, and you may not realize that they are logging into your account. Follow these tips, and you can rest assure that your password is secure!
